Here Paul strongly defends his Gospel message against the Jewish teachers who had come to the Galatian churches after Paul had left and had told the believers that they needed to obey the Old Testament Jewish law in order to be true Christians. Paul confronts this false teaching directly. Then he explains that it is the Holy Spirit who enables us to know how to obey God in our daily lives.
