Peter travelled to the churches in Judea. In Lydda, he healed Ananias from paralysis and in Joppa, he raised Dorcas from death through the name of Jesus.

A remarkable healing miracle takes place in the Temple courts. Peter uses the opportunity of preaching to the crowd about Jesus and how through him the fulfilment of the Abrahamic covenant to bless all nations of the earth is made possible.

The parable is directed at the Pharisees and links to the previous parable. It warns against letting wealth and possessions distract from following the Law of Moses and the Kingdom of God. There are two eternal destinies after life.

Materialism affects all of society and was found in the Jewish religion of Jesus' day. We should trust God to provide, think about heavenly rewards rather than earthly, and be generous in our giving to combat materialism.

During the Passover preparations Jesus is anointed by Mary in Bethany.  In showing her devotion she prepares Jesus' body for burial. Judas' reaction is to leave the meal to consort with the Jewish leaders.
