The disciples have a miraculous catch of fish and recognise Jesus on the shore. They breakfast with him and then he reinstates Peter to his important role as pastor/leader of the Church.

When asked to pay a Temple tax, Jesus miraculously provides the money. He continues to warn of the difficulties to come in his ministry.

The discussion following the feeding of the 5000 continues in Capernaum. Jesus continues to use metaphorical imagery. The crowd is divided in its response to his teaching about his suffering and then ascension.

Although Jesus is seeking rest, he has compassion on the crowd and involves the 12 fully in the miracle of multiplication. There are many lessons to be learnt.

Jesus calls fishermen to fish for men. They experience a miraculous catch of fish. Some are called to be more than followers - they are called to lead. Teamwork is important.

At a village wedding in Cana the wine runs out. Jesus did not want to go public at that time but performs the miracle of water to wine, described by John as a sign. Marriage is endorsed. Teaching is given on alcohol.
