Following the release of Peter and John, the church spend time in prayer. Their trust in God, their unity in the faith, and their generosity to fellow believers is evidenced. Barnabas, the 'son of encouragement' is introduced.

Ten days after the Ascension, at the Pentecost feast, the promised Holy Spirit is given. Peter preaches to the crowd and three thousand join. This is the birth of the church.

Two members of the Sanhedrin bury Jesus, watched by a group of women. The divine Jesus did not die but went to be with his Father, but the human Jesus did die and was buried in a sealed tomb.

The Sanhedrin insists that Pontius Pilate should try Jesus, find him guilty and have him crucified. Pilate cannot find any reason to do this but does so to have an easy life. All involved are 'judged' within a generation of Jesus' death.

The Pharisees ask a question about the greatest law but Jesus' answer was generally accepted by the Jews. He asks them a question about the divinity of the son of David which they cannot answer.

The Pharisees and Herodians try to trick Jesus by asking about paying taxes. Jesus replies 'Give Caesar what is Caesar's and God what is God's, clearly defining a difference between Church and State.

Jesus acknowledges the fragility of life and explains the need to believe now. The parable seems to refer to 3 years of his ministry and the need for the nation of Israel to believe.

John, a prophet working near Jerusalem by the River Jordan. His message challenges people to repent and be baptised. He specifically challenges the wealthy, tax collectors and soldiers and points to the Messiah.
