After two years in prison, the Governor changes and Festus decides to re-try Paul in Caesarea. Paul, as a Roman citizen, appeals to Caesar and will be sent to the Supreme Court in Rome. King Agrippa II and his sister visit Festus.

A group of forty men plotted to assassin Paul but his nephew heard and went to Paul and the Roman commander who quickly organised a large protection party to escort him to Caesarea to go Governor Felix because Paul was a Roman citizen and has to have a fair trial.

After events in Bethany and Jericho, Jesus orchestrates his provocative entry into Jerusalem. He weeps for Israel and the judgement to come.

Jesus heals a mixed group of ten lepers - both Jew and Samaritan - but only one Samaritan returns to thank Jesus. They were sent to show themselves to the priests in Jerusalem to prove their healing which would in turn point to Jesus as the healer.

Jesus tells this parable in response to a trick question. He challenges the Jewish concept of loving fellow Jews as neighbours and encourages mercy for anyone who has need.

Water used for ritual washing is part of the Feast of Tabernacles. Jesus refers to Holy Spirit as living water and speaks of spiritual thirst.

Jesus challenges the religious leaders about the Sabbath day and their attack on his character. He shows courage to face them and his brothers, who do not believe in him at this stage.

When asked to pay a Temple tax, Jesus miraculously provides the money. He continues to warn of the difficulties to come in his ministry.

There are several explicit statements of Jesus' identity. Five pieces of evidence are given for believing in Jesus and his divine nature.

A leper is cured and sent to the priests, following regulations that they must declare him cured. Leprosy has severe social consequences. Jesus again takes time to pray.
