Paul addresses an argument between two women in the church and encourages them to resolve the issue. Worship is highlighted. He mentions the need to meet conflict and anxiety with prayer.

Paul particularly mentions Timothy and Epaphroditus among his team of workers. They had important supporting roles for his ministry.

The church in Philippi was founded by Paul and he had a good relationship with them. They had helped him and he is thankful for them.

Paul travels to Jerusalem for a second time to ensure he is preaching the right gospel to the Gentiles following criticism from Jewish believers who are undermining his preaching and questioning his authority. Peter and the other apostles agree with Paul and remind him to remember the poor, as the Gentiles did not share that concern in their societies.

Paul greets a long list of co-workers in Rome and urges them to welcome Phoebe who is probably the courier for the letter to the Romans. There is evidence of team work throughout Paul’s ministry.

Paul warns the church about people coming in and causing division by false teaching or false motives. More of his colleagues and friends are mentioned.

Paul travels to Miletus, bypassing Ephesus but calls the elders of the Ephesian church to meet him. He is concerned to train the leaders in the way they should lead the church - with humility and not seeking gain for themselves.

A plot to kill Paul makes him decide to travel by land to Jerusalem with a large team. On the way he visits the churches he has established to encourage them and organise leadership. At Troas, he shared with the church at length; Eutychus fell out of a window and died but then was resurrected.

Demetrius, a silversmith, organised a demonstration against the new faith that was taking away his livelihood and turning people away from following the cult of Artemis. The city clerk calmed the crowd in the amphitheatre indicating the need to use the law courts and the danger of rioting in the Roman empire.

Paul, and his team, spend a long time in Ephesus. He speaks to the synagogue but then holds discussions with others in an educational setting. The gospel spreads out from Ephesus as people experience miracles and the power of the Holy Spirit.
